Programming About

Pari pays respect to the Burramattagal people of the Darug nation as the custodians of the land on which we are based.
We acknowledge that sovereignty has not been ceded and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.

Pari is an artist-run initiative in Parramatta. We are for art that tells stories that need to be told, sheds new light on old thinking, or tackles new ideas altogether.

Pari’s inaugural exhibition, 10 Degrees Hotter, takes its name from the heat that exudes out of Western Sydney. It’s hot out here in more ways than one. There’s the urban heat island effect which renders the western suburbs its own microclimate, ever-worsening as the climate crisis progresses. Heat is also an energy force, a symptom of changing states — and here in the west, artists fan the embers, watch the smoke rise, and let off steam.
